The original “barricaia”, or wine cellar, is underground,
carved out of the space where the Lequio family once made
wine at the turn of the 20th century. The
temperature and humidity here is optimal for maintaining
both the wine and the Barriques wood, thereby preventing the
staves from opening, causing the wine to leak out.
Each Barrique has a life expectancy of four years afterwhich
it is replaced with new ones.
The cost of refining our wines this way is very high, but
the results are truly exceptional. |
